It appears that Google has obtained the permission to launch their recently announced eBook store, which means there is a clear and credible threat to Amazon Kindle and Apple iPad in the race of becoming the leading electronic bookseller. According to reports by Japan Today, Google has grabbed the support of almost all publishers in the United States and that we can expect the launch as early as the end of June.As many as 25,000 authors & publishers have signed on to be part of the launch of Google Editions, which could comprise more than 4 million books, roughly four times the size of the Amazon Kindle store.
Google is diving seriously in to the market and wants to waste no time sprinting its way into the e-Book race. A Google tablet is being developed with Verizon, a clear competitor to both the Amazon Kindle and the Apple iPad. Yes, you heard it right, Verizon Wireless and Google Inc. together is working on a tablet computer which, we expect, could throw a tough challenge to the AT&T and Apple iPad.
Google has said it is working with hardware makers and carriers to create lightweight computers that run its software; this internet giant company is seeking to spur the adoption of its online software and advertising system through its own partnerships.
