Tech Tunes : Why pay for Pirated stuff?

Why pay for Pirated stuff?

Most of us have a habit of downloading pirated music, movies, software, premium blog themes etc. There are a very little percentage of people in this world who buy original stuff. While most of us openly protest against piracy, we still download secretly when we’re alone at our homes. Most of us aren’t bold enough to admit that we download pirated stuff, and it is illegal. We talk about ethics when someone else steals our stuff, but when we steal someone else’s we rarely think that we’re cheating someone or some company.

But how useless is this cheating? Do you know we all are still paying for pirated stuff, do you know it is not free as it seems to us? Surprised to hear this? Ok here is the way how you and I are paying for pirated stuff, here is how pirated things aren’t free:

Have you noticed, many packages available for downloading from warez sites are sized over 5MB or 10MB? Have you tried to know why the original package is far lower in size but the total package is packed with some extra useless wallpapers or extra mp3 files? It it because file sharing websites offer some rewards, paybacks, bonus to file sharers if their offered download file is over 5MB or 10MB (depends on which sharing network wants how much size of file to giveaway bonus).

We think it is free, so we download it. But here is the catch. Suppose if your actual package size is 1MB, but you downloaded a 5MB package, so you have downloaded extra 4MB, right? It means, you actually paid for those extra 4MB data to your ISP. But it seems to be free since you didn’t pay the warez site. Even if you have an unlimited internet connection, you’re still paying – how? The TIME to download those extra 4MB you can convert into money by some other means but you spent extra time downloading those extra 4MB which was useless to you. And, do I need to tell you again, time is money!

You and I pay for pirated stuff, not directly with credit card or bank account.

So you see, you’re paying, you’re not getting anything for free. So if you’re paying, why not pay the original seller and grab a licenced copy? There’s a benefit if we buy original, we’ll get updates to software, virus definition updates or software updates. Maybe some discount to next higher version of software. But pirated stuff never offer upgrades, you’ve to download again, thus, keep paying indirectly! Money is slipping out our pockets, hundreds of bloggers and warez sites admins are making money from us, don’t be a fool not to notice it ever.

You’re paying from your hard earned money, but hiding your face. Buy original, openly & boldly, pay directly and get original stuff.
