Today I noticed two suspicious emails from Facebook(!!!) to confirm password reset process of my account. It looked legitimate, but I’ve not reset my password, why Facebook is sending me confirmation email? The Bell Rang.
First thing came to my mind that it is a phishing email, but I found an attachment too. I had no doubt that it’s containing virus. Still I tried to download and there was a virus alert!
How to Keep Yourself Safe from Facebook (and other) Virus
* Unless you are really resetting your password, don’t click any link on these kind of emails asking for your confirmation
* Don’t download any attachment; specially any .zip file. However, Facebook and other websites won’t send you any attachment to reset your password.
* Use latest version of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browser. Ditch your Internet Explorer 6 browser.
* Use PhishTank website to check if you suspect any website.
That’s it for the moment, Chao!
